Chhi Piseth is an 11-year-old boy from Koh Toch commune, Krong Bokor, Kampot province. He lives with his parents and two siblings in a family of five. Piseth is currently in Grade 5 at Raksmey Khemarak Primary School, where he is known for his love of mathematics and his dream of one day becoming a doctor.
Piseth has a visual impairment that makes it difficult for him to see things clearly from a distance. While he’s always been able to help with housework at home, seeing the blackboard at school was a daily struggle.

“I started learning in this school when I was young, but I don’t remember getting my eyes checked until recently.”
Thanks to the inclusive education project, Piseth received an eye screening at a center near his school. He was later given a pair of spectacles; something that has completely changed his learning experience.

“Now I can sit in the front row and see the blackboard clearly. My teacher helps me, and my classmates play with me during the breaks. I feel included.”
