PAfID Supports Inclusive Input into Cambodia’s NDC 3.0

PAfID contributed both technically and financially, through its small grant from the Global Greengrants Fund, to a national Reflection Workshop on Cambodia’s draft Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) 3.0, co-organized by NGO Forum and the Ministry of Environment.

While PAfID’s financial support was modest, it helped facilitate inclusive participation in the workshop, which gathered civil society voices from across the country, including persons with disabilities, women, youth, and Indigenous groups. PAfID staff joined breakout sessions focused on cross-cutting issues such as gender, disability, and social inclusion, ensuring that the lived experiences of women with disabilities; drawn from its WWD-LAN network; were reflected in the recommendations submitted to government.

This strategic engagement directly supported Objective 1 of PAfID’s GGF-supported project: promoting the inclusion of women with disabilities in national climate policy. It also reinforced GGF’s broader goal of funding grassroots-led, justice-oriented climate action.

Through this involvement, PAfID helped to ensure that Cambodia’s climate commitments are shaped by and responsive to those most at risk; but too often left out; of climate decision-making.

Through this engagement, PAfID advanced one of the core objectives of its GGF-supported project: ensuring the meaningful inclusion of women with disabilities in national climate strategies. As Cambodia prepares to finalize and submit its NDC 3.0 to the UNFCCC, PAfID remains committed to monitoring the document’s inclusivity; and to holding space for the communities it represents in future climate planning and implementation efforts.
