Pathways to employment – a cornerstone of independence

Supporting employment opportunities for persons with disabilities is PAfID’s ongoing commitment. We work closely with Cambodian government ministries particularly the National Employment Agency (NEA) under the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, and the Ministry of Social Affairs. This commitment is part of PAfID’s long term strategy aligned with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and Cambodia’s National Disability Strategic Plan (NDSP) 2024–2028.

On 29 April 2026, PAfID joined as a speaker and facilitated the participation of persons with disabilities in the workshop “Inclusive Employment: Job Opportunities and Accessible Infrastructure for Persons with Disabilities in Cambodia,” held at the NEA. The program included an awareness session and a job forum that brought employers and persons with disabilities together.

As a result, one youth with a disability received an on the spot job interview and was later successfully hired. This is demonstrating the positive impact collaboration between PAfID, NEA, MoSVY and private sector in promoting inclusive and meaningful employment.
