Work and Employment

Article 27 of UNCRPD – Work and employment “… States Parties recognize the right of persons with disabilities to work, on an equal basis with others; this includes the right to the opportunity to gain a living by work freely chosen or accepted in a labour market and work environment that is open, inclusive and accessible to persons with disabilities…”
Part of our longer-term strategy to support people with disabilities access to employment and rural livelihood, PAfID has made significant efforts to support job seeker with disabilities to be ready for employment and also support employer to be more confidence to employ people with disabilities.

We are working in close collaboration with National Employment Agency (NEA) of the Ministry of Labor (MoL), The Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation (MoSVY), Organization of People with Disabilities (OPDs), Private sectors and development partners to support journey for disability inclusion in Employment. We contribute to Cambodia Government commitment for Disability Inclusion through the implementation of National Disability Strategic Plan (NDSP) and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).

On 26th – 27th October 2024 at National Career and Productivity Fair event, People’s Action for Inclusive Development (PAfID) supported around 75 people with disabilities from different provinces to participate in the event. They were supported by our Job Coach and program team. Most of people with disabilities who attended the event have applied for job and been interviewed.

Thanks for great collaboration from National Employment Agency (NEA) of the Ministry of Labour (MoL) and thanks to all relevant partners and donors for your contribution.

Thanks all PAfID team members who worked very hard to have this happened in a meaningful way.

Let’s make the Right Real!
